How To: Sharpen Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil

I have recently fallen IN LOVE with my Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil. I have the one in Milk (as shown) and I use it every day I wear eye makeup. It works so many wonders on my eyes. If you're curious how I use it, let me know and I will totally spill on all the wonders of it.

Because I use it so much, I noticed it was running low very quickly and I  was kind of bummed because I wasn't aware you could sharpen it. After looking online I found out that you can sharpen it. I was so excited but I read online it was a huge waste of the product to sharpen it.. what?!? So Today I wanted to share with you how I sharpen mine. It's easy peasy.

This is how we started. My pencil was completly flat and there was NO way I could get anymore out of it.

What You Will Need:

1. Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil.
2. Sharpener that fits the pencil.
3. Paper Towel.
4. Freezer.

How It's Done:
First we are going to start out with a a paper towel. Wrap up your pencil(s) in a paper towel. Then place it in the freezer where it won't be messed with for 15 minutes.

This is my freezer.. Just place your pencil(s) anywhere in the freezer.

Once your pencil have been frozen, take your pencil out and sharpen.

Why do you put it in the freezer? Good question. The reason you should put your pencil(s) in the freezer is simply because it helps keep the cream hard so you won't make a huge mess while trying to sharpen it. It really helps save a lot of the actual product.

Some Tips:
1. Make sure your sharpener is clean. Mine wasn't so you can see some black on the pencil after I sharpened it.

2. Make sure your pencil is actually hard before you sharpen it. I lost a lot more product than I wanted too because I was impatient.

Do you have any other tips/tricks? Let me know in the comments below.

  2. I remember how mad I was when I learned the freezing technique! I had been using a blow dryer to melt them into new pots! What a waste of my time, haha! Really glad freezing them makes it so much easier to sharpen!

P.S. I would totally love to see how you use your milk eye pencil! I love makeup tip posts!
