Today's post is not a Music Monday (I have a playlist for you this week though, don't worry) but yet a post from a housewife. Heather from Life, Love, & Pinterest has offered to guest post for today.
***********************************************************************
If you were to take a poll today and ask how many people would want
to be a house wife, you most likely wouldn't get very many answers.
Not many people dream of spending their days at home while their man
is out all day working. I guess that's what makes me an anomaly.
Currently, I'm only a housewife in the interim, while I try and find
work. But in the meantime, I'm living it up cooking and cleaning! And
while that doesn't sounds very fun, to me, it is. I'm weird. I love
to do the dishes. I spend my days cleaning one room a day (more on that
later), dancing around the house to Pandora radio, and working on my
internet presence. I've found the only way to get things done online
(as well as around the house) is to treat whatever you're doing like
a job.
Crazy, but it works!
Now, my mister, Bill, and I don't have that big of a house (3 bedroom,
1 bath), but it sure does feel big when you try to clean it all in one
day! I broke it down into a week-long process so that it doesn't feel
overwhelming (and so Bill doesn't have to clean like mad on his days
off). I do all of the house over the course of the week, with the exception
of the office. That's for Bill.
So let's jump into how I do it!
Monday.
Bathroom
Dust.
Scrubbing Bubbles for the sink and the shower.
Let sit for 15 minutes (mostly for the sink. Our shower is surprisingly
clean, and the bubble change colours relatively fast. (Bill normally
has the bathroom sit like that for 30 minutes, though.)
Clorox blue toilet bowl cleaner. Basically just
follow directions on back.
Swiffer the floor
Sometimes, if the cabinet and closet are messy,
I reorganize those. But usually they're good.
Tuesday.
Bedroom
Dust.
Pledge wood.
Change sheets, and make the bed.
Pick up/put away any clothes out.
Wednesday.
Living Room.
Dust.
Pledge wood.
Pick up and put away anything that isn't supposed
to be in the room
Thursday.
Kitchen.
Dust.
Dishes (if any).
Soap down and scrub the counters, as well as the
stove.
Check the fridge for expired food to toss.
Friday.
Laundry.
Vacuum all carpeted rooms.
Saurday.
Bill does the Computer Room.
Sunday.
Nothing, YAY!
Make sure trash bin gets put out from for pick
up on Monday.
So that's my routine! Hopefully that helps someone out there. What
do you do to clean your house? Do you have a routine,
or do you just do it whenever?
Thanks so much to Sabrina to letting me guest
blog for her. Hope to see you over at Life, Love, & Pinterest sometime!

Thanks again Heather! I really do appreciate you taking the time to offer to write for me today.
I loved her post. I feel like it helped me out in a few ways.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to increase my internet presence as well & get more dedicated to my blog. I'm realizing the only way to do that & get results is to treat it like a job. She's totally right.
& I'm definitely trying her way of cleaning a house. Instead of tiring myself out trying to clean everything at once I'll take it one day at a time!
Thanks! I'm glad that I could give you some insight on getting things done, hahah. Whenever I struggle, I think "Oh no, the boss'll be mad if this isn't done by ____." Usually helps.
